Celebrated as Indonesia's finest conductor, Avip Priatna graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) under Leopold Hager and Prof. Gunther Theuring. He founded and serves as Music Director of both the Jakarta Concert Orchestra and the Batavia Madrigal Singers. One of only a handful of conductors to have won the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing twice (2018 and 2022), he has received "Best Conductor" awards in Bulgaria, Spain, and Italy. In 2011, the Republic of Austria awarded him the Decoration of Honour in Gold. He is a sought-after jury member at major competitions across Europe and Asia.
