Tracing its origins to the Muzıka-i Hümayun of the 19th century and reorganized in Ankara following the proclamation of the Republic under the vision of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) celebrates its bicentennial with a series of commemorative events. As a pioneer in establishing polyphonic music culture in Turkey and representing the country successfully on international stages, the CSO continues to merge its rich heritage with contemporary musical production.
This meaningful concert, held in memory of our foundation's late president Mehmet Başman, will feature the world premieres of works by Erberk Eryılmaz and Onur Türkmen, commissioned by the Presidential Symphony Orchestra.
As the inheritor of a two-century-long artistic tradition, the CSO, in its 200th year, not only pays homage to its past but also affirms a strong and enduring artistic vision for the future by hosting the first performances of new works.
